All Wheel Engineering, LLC was founded in 1999 to serve the U.S. market demand for upgraded components on Subaru Impreza 2.5RS vehicles. At this time products were typically imported from Japan or the UK at high cost. Starting with the industry leading, Kartboy short throw shift lever. AWE built up an arsenal of products, designed and fabricated in the U.S.A. With the addition of the Subaru WRX and Mazda MP3/Protege5 to the 2002 model year, the product line has expanded. In addition to retail and wholesale customers, AWE as consultants to professional racing teams, as well as industries such as medical, aerospace, and automotive.
Tom "Kartboy" Deadrick, 34, is an aerospace fabricator by trade. His skills include advanced composite fabrication and manufacture, as well as high performance metallic structures, fabrication and welding. His past experience is quite diverse, including stints in many forms of motorsport. Tom has been involved with the manufacture of CART open wheel chassis, NHRA chassis and engine development, including competition racing in SCCA and 125cc Shifter Karts.
