The biggest design decision was to create a two-piece kit instead of a single casting. The reason for this is simple. Because of our high-end manufacturing methods, the GrimmSpeed TMIC can hold insanely tight tolerances in the spacing and machining of the two inlet flanges. Unfortunately, many aftermarket manufacturers struggle to hold their tolerances tight enough to allow for a one-piece y-pipe that would fit every time. Our high-grade silicone couplers and stainless t-bolt clamps ensure that your connection between the two is leak-free. We designed the y-pipe pieces in CAD and balanced their flow using flow simulation software. We've provided a bypass recirculation hose to replace your brittle OEM piece while you have your intercooler removed as well as a fresh throttle body coupler. Materials Each casting is precision machined to our exacting specifications after the casting process is complete. Couplers are wrapped 5 plys thick with a heat-resistant fiber reinforcement between each layer to ensure that the couplers hold their shape even under the toughest conditions. Couplers are made from a durable, heat-resistant silicone that is guaranteed not to degrade or crack, even with thousands and thousands of heat cycles. Stainless steel T-bolt clamps are supplied for each and every connection. The other guys offer less complete kits with sub-standard castings, lower-quality couplers and fewer t-bolt clamps. We provide everything you need to be confident in the way that you're getting the pressurized air all the way from your turbo to your throttle body.
